The numbers game

Well the results are out. The latest poll from END puts Fortuno with a 16 point lead. All the analyst will defend the most corrupt Governor the island has ever had and boost about his comeback. Its both fascinating and depressing how we as a people are willing to give credence to the current administration. Anibal Acevedo Vila has been indicted on 24 counts related to criminal activity by the Federal government. With the help of El Nuevo Dia and Primera Hora the two most widely read newspapers in the island, he mas manage to make the people believe this is payback for stances he has taken against the Federal Government. With the damn "ay bendito" he has manage to shave points of the lead of Fortuno.
What the has not been told and I find invigorating is in spite of the dirty work and misinformation by END, Primera Hora, Rossello, the PPD, Fortuno and Pierluisi still have the lead. All these adverse elements have attemtedto do everything to bring down Fortuno. They have not and will not succeed in defeating him in the incoming elections.
The headline itself of today's news is a clear example how END and PH seek to carry the current governors candidacy out of the cloud of corruption and portray him as a victim.
Fortuno on the other hand has been sidetracked by the mini-me DeCastro Font just blabbering away. If only the NPP had the discipline to ignore him and concentrate on the matters at hand. Fortuno has to step up the fight, not him because its not in his nature, but his pit bulls. Pierluisi and Rivera Shatz are two guys not scared of getting into a fight, quick with tongue, and ready to throw the punch. The party secretary and campaign director need also to step up the attack.
Just like Obama told the audience during his speech, ENOUGH. We who believe in a permanent union with the United States of America say ENOUGH. The public has to be reminded incessantly who Anibal is, and the continuous harm he has done to Puerto Rico, Not just as Governor but as resident Commissioner, how we have lost millions in funds, how we have been taxed 'til there is nothing left, how the poor have been exploited leaving them with out health care, without adequate education, The economy has had zero growth. Way before the recession in the mainland came into full force, This administration had already put the breaks on growth.
Let Fortuno remind the people of Puerto Rico how Tito kayak has left hundred of families without jobs. How banks were not willing to lend a dime for any project way before the recession in the states took hold. How the ELA pays out millions of dollars in lawsuits which are a direct result of there ineptutude and arrogance.
This is no joke. We cannot afford another 4 years of this government, we cannot afford 4 years of exploitation of the middle class, the small business owner. And what of the poor, here are the hard facts, Uncle Sam is throwing less money to the island and there will less money for any and all of the programs which are meant to benefit the poor, housing, health, education, head start. The harm Anibal Acevedo Vila has caused Puerto Rico will take many years to repair if he is re elected it will be the beginning of the end.
